Band review (Discrimination Free)

At this point you're probably scratching your head and saying "Who is Switch Style and why is Chip posting this"?Well, this is my first time doing and write something like this.i've been write a lot of thing like (people i love, people i hate, surrounding, love, hate, current issues, crapy and shitty thing etc etc),and now im goin to try something new and i apoligize for the lack of content.i hope that i can share my little tiny effort with you people. The purpose of this blog is to promote the bands and their albums/Demo/EP/stuff and of course to follow up what are they doing on the future,i mean new project, new stuffs and so on. Most of the bands/albums posted here are stuffs that I like and listen to.. I'm just sharing them to let others know about these great bands and hopefully buy their albums and merchandise. If there is one thing I appreciate, its a band who puts effort into their releases. Whether it's a demo/EP or a label release, the effort a band puts into the release shows us how dedicated they are and how much they care about what they are doing. Distressed has shown me that there's a band out there with an agenda and a message that they want to spread.''music is a good medium for us to expose and express our feeling.this is just not about the music we playing, but its all about the message that we want to deliver''.So if you like a band, then go buy their albums/demo/EP so they can continue making more music for us to enjoy.I will not be responsible for people who will sell copies of the albums/demo/EP etc.etc I have posted here. Leave me a message on my shoutbox or E-mail Me if you want your materials posted on or removed from this blog.

DISCRIMINATION FREE

Discrimination Free (DF) was formed since 2008.DF was a Hardcore/Punk band that had a good deal of success. If you are a fan of Champion, Verse, Bane, Have Heart, Defeater, More Than Life, Modern Life Is War, Ruiner, Life Long Tragedy, The Effort or The Carrier, you should try to listen to their music.

Lyrically, the band continues dealing with topics they feel strongly about including the government but the fact they included a song about racism, political issues, fascistme is something that made me happy. I have felt that racism has made its way back into the hardcore scene, whether it be joking or not, and should be addressed on a grand scale. Its nice to see the band standing up for something that I agree with..well for me,music is a good medium for us to expose and express our feeling.this is just not about the music we playing, but its all about the message that their want to deliver. And yes,the upcoming project is split demo that will be release by the end of this year.As mentioned above, DF will do a split with 28 Days Later,a band from Tawau Sabah.content with 4 song from DF and 4 song from 28 Days Later.

''Discrimination free'' song list:
-Burn the fascist flag
-stay true
-Differences are not a license
-Out go the promises

unfortunately,i havent had the track yet.

Even though my actual involvement in the hardcore/punk scene in general is very limited now and confined almost exclusively to the internet, I am still VERY grateful to be involved in it. Music is by far my #1 passion in life and I am especially passionate about hardcore music being as how it's been a part of my life for a quarter of a century now. These guys could actually play their instruments and while there are quite a few chug chug parts, there are some nice leads going over them.you should see them LIVE!awesome i have to say.

current line up
iqram (vox), Ben (gitar), Tim (gitar), Anyoi (bass) dan Along (drum)

you can check this guy on myspace.

14 DECEMBER 2010

happy birthday to me

Is it just me or have all 20-something-year-old's I know have fallen into a state of constantly thinking we are too old for anything fun. Staying out 'til 3am drinking and dancing doesn't sound too appealing to me, especially since I'd rather spend my weekends without a thumping hangover. I'm just too old to be drunk at a club at 3 in the morning.dipshit.for some reason i'll never drink anymore. OK OK It's probably just me.wuuuhu.

14 December! there were several moments when the conversation was typical wacky for us and I thought, "Oh, I should remember that exchange and blog it." This morning of course it is all gone. I remember no specifics. Oh, well, I do remember the conversation about people getting old which included debate about whether my memory was being affected. I admitted to loss of hearing and grey hairs, but insisted my memory was this bad when I was 23.it was a great and best birthday party i ever had,the talking , the singing , dinner and everything.it was just PERFECT!

the truth is, though, I am not too old for anything. YOU are not too old for anything. We should not be held back by those numbers, damn it! OK. I'm not too old to do a jumping / flying shot on the beach with my older sister who is also not to too old!i was born at midnight maybe.haha.Random. I bet you didn't know I was born right at the stroke of midnight. Or well, at least that's what's written on my birth certificate. My mom says the clock they used as basis might (just might) have been a few minutes advanced.

The older I got, though, the more I realized I was not as intelligent as I thought I was. Good thing I also realized it was not the only thing that mattered in the world - that there were so many things much more important than IQ! Greet Me!.My whole life, my birthday always fell at the time of the year when everyone was busy. When I t was still birthday, december was finals exams, final projects, and final reports week or preparation dipshit. The worst one was when I was a high school Freshman and nobody at school knew/remembered my birthday at all. Fail!

But here is my self indulgent birthday post for you - all I ask for is a quick a simple greet on this, my special day. Yehey! I feel so lucky to have all of you!

im a survivor!

I spent my entire life trapped in a cage.thats the first thought i had in my mind. For a most students, the first week of college is a big fat tangle of emotions. You’re excited to be out on your own, nervous about what’s coming, maybe even a little homesick. The first night in my room with a new roommate its a little awkward.

the people in general are ''pfftttt''. some of them are annoying and cliquey and behave worse than most middle-schoolers. basically, you always have to watch your back because you can't trust anyone around here. i don't feel like i'm a particularly hard person to get along with, but the bottom line is that me and most of these people just have nothing in common. they don't get me and i don't get them, period.

one of THE most horrific parts of it all is living in a dorm. it's a complete culture shock to anyone who's never lived away from home before. prior to college, i was used to having my own room and a decent amount of privacy, plus everything i needed within a comfortable reach. here, i just feel lonely and lost. the rooms are extremely dark and tiny, the bathrooms and showers are disgusting, and there is zero privacy. oh, and let's not forget the outrageous cost of all of this. for all the money, we're paying, you think we'd get better. it's basically like a long, painful camping trip that takes "roughing it" to new heights.whoaahhhhhhoahh

But college isn’t so bad. Actually, it’s pretty awesome. I’ve been here for about a week.,the one good thing i will say for college is that i have liked all my teachers thus far and gotten pretty good grades (although i sometimes don't apply myself as much as i could). my teachers have all been interesting people who are awesome at what they do and clearly care about their students. if it wasn't for them, i wouldn't have one positive thing to say about this place!

IM A SURVIVOR!

midway through haircut

wuuhu.Looking at my self in the mirror, I’m not sure if I’d recognized myself. I no longer have long hair. The 9 month experiment has come to an end and while it was a bit sad to see my long hair go away, it was also time for a change. Why I decided to grow out my hair doesn’t really have that interesting of a back story. It was my nature to be lazy and one time I just didn’t get a haircut for a really long time, and before I knew it, my hair was several inches long. I had always had the idea of growing out my hair and what better chance than now. And there you have it, the reason I had long hair was because I was too lazy to get a haircut.

So several weeks ago, I had a poll up asking what people thought I should do with my hair. Most people thought I should go with a new style or go short. There were a few that told me that I looked better with long hair and it gave me character. In the end, I decided it was a time for a change and decided to go with short hair.short hair made perfect sense.

So I had no idea what style I really wanted.so here i am.

pic will upload soon. T_T

im dealing with this breed of dipshit

Everyone has their own views. Everyone has priorities, everyone has sentiments that they should be proud of. Hiding from your views devalues them. So why would a person come up with a phrase to cover up their real feelings? Well, these people are of a particular breed. You see, if a person finds out the truth about them, they’re one step closer to realizing that the person is in fact a dipshit.

I am far superior a human being to any of them, and I would like them to cater to my own tastes. In fact, I hypocritically hold the opinion that if their opinions change to suit.

我希望你慢慢死,但快点下地狱。

wtf wtf wtf

Normally I’d be too lazy to write about this, but I feel it needs a least a little explanation.

I won't lie, I was a nervous sort of kid. I didn't like fireworks, I didn't like swimming, and so on. Point is, I was scared of several things, so I started thinking. Maybe all these things I was afraid of were things I had experienced in a negative way in some previous light. As I got older, I realized that I didn't like fireworks . Woops. I didn't like swimming because I jumped in the wrong end of a pool and had to have a lifeguard drag my ass out. I wasn't scared because of past life experiences, but because of bad experiences in my current life. I pushed those things out of my head, though, until I was old enough to acknowledge that I was just being stupid and eventually quit bothering with the past life nonsense.

what the ''f'' am i writing here?????pfffttt..

Man in love

i still cant believe i post this out.what a jerk.

first of all,i would like to say thank you for all that you do. I know that many times your efforts seem to go unnoticed but I want to assure you that they are not. Many of us notice and highly value what you do on a regular basis and it would be a great loss if you were not involved in the ways that you are.

One thing I love about you is how you continue to do what you do even though the odds seem stacked against you. If one were to focus on the outward appearances, the environment for success appears dismal. All around you are the voices of negativity, dissension, distrust and anger and yet, you stay positive and encouraging through it all. Your smiles and warmth seem to offset the frowns and worries of those you encounter. I love your kindness.

I know some of the personal challenges you have had recently. Enough has gone wrong in your life that it would be very understandable if you simply threw up your hands and gave up. You have faced economic set backs that seemed to indicate that the time was just not right to push to do more. Yet, somehow, you found a way to do more with less. I love your persistence.

I also know of some of the relationship turmoil you have gone through in your life. I know the deep sadness you have felt because of promised fidelity that was breached. It is a hard thing to bear when the confidence you place in another person is betrayed. It makes me proud to see how you continue to love and to give without holding onto past hurts that would stifle the affections of the average person. I love your openness.

It is also admirable that you have not allowed your health challenges to serve as an excuse for you not doing more. Your example of trusting God in the midst of your predicament is very encouraging to all of us who have health issues that seem to weigh us down from time to time. Instead of using your health as a liability, you have turned it into a positive by valuing the simple blessings of life that so many of us take for granted. I love your hopefulness.

a million thanks to you.:)

respectfully yours
