I am about to turn 24. No I am not upset. I think of it as an accomplishment. I am glad I came up in the time that I did. The time before computers and video games and full blown cable. Here a few differences:

I stayed out and played all day, kickball, trail tag, and play wrestling
My mother tore my ass up when I got out of line
I would be paddled by the teacher if I acted up in school
I could watch MTV when they actually played music videos
I had a virgin Barbie doll
I would go skating the entire weekend and would not have to worry about a pervert
I would have dozens and dozens of cassette tapes of songs

Kids will have to be fork lifted from the couch after playing video games all day
Parents count now. Yet nothing happens to the kid when they reach 10. They just count again .
If a teacher paddles a kid now they are labeled a pedophile and fired
You can not find a music video on MTV anymore. Only stupid reality shows
We have crackhead, homeless and prostitute Barbee now
Kids wont skate they have Wii now and they can pretend to skate
Kids have the Ipod now. No need of cassette tapes. Thank you Itunes
The childhood I had was great. Today is different. Some parents will just stay on welfare and allow the streets and the school to raise their kids. So I am glad I will be 24 and older because there is no way in hell I would want to be a kid today.
